STRANDED IN BALI! I AM DEFINITELY NOT COMPLAINING!

You must be wondering how did that happen? Well... thanks to the Dubai floods that took place on the week commencing 15th April, my flights home were cancelled.

My initial stay was at the Tanadewa Resort in Ubud; it was like paradise. When I think back to my stay there, I feel as though it truly was a dream. The hospitality, the food, the resort itself and the amenities it provided were something I have never experienced before and treasure forever. I stayed in their courtyard private pool villa which was also something I had not done before. Waking up to a pool outside your room was just heaven! I was able to get in whenever I wanted to and have the me time I had been chasing for a while.

The town of Ubud reminded me of the hustle and bustle you find in India, Thailand and surrounding countries to Bali. I was truly in my element there and took in all the sites, colours, food and people.

I experienced rain on my last night in Ubud which was quite refreshing considering the heat throughout the 6 days! Little did I know that there was a storm happening in Dubai!

After being left with a simple explanation that my flight was cancelled, no guidance or assistance with booking alternative accommodation at the last minute, the panic had kicked in for me! I managed to find a room for the night (no thanks to the taxi driver from hell) and I thought ok, at least I have somewhere to stay tonight and hopefully I shall be on a flight the next day.

How wrong was I ladies!!

After the shock that I would not be home for another week subsided and I had found a hotel in Kuta to stay, I managed to see the positive side of it all, that I got another week to enjoy this beautiful country and one should not complain about it but be thankful for the break!

Home is always home no matter what but being away in Bali for two weeks was definitely a blessing!
